Panel Discussion: Unleashing Efficiency: Diving into Operational Excellence!

Emmitt Nantz has been leading veterinary operations as a career for nearly 20 years. At this year’s VetForum USA, Emmitt is representing Inventory Ally, a cloud-based solution for optimizing inventory replenishment by leveraging order history data instead of PIMS data.  Hospitals are realizing a reduction in Cost of Goods Sold and inventory carry costs by optimizing inventory replenishment to meet the specific needs of the hospital for every item.  Hospital teams are reporting up to 8 hours per week saved managing their inventory and EBITDA is growing by 2-6 points in most locations.

Christie Long's career focus has been harnessing technology and new ideas to improve relationships between pets and their parents. As a small animal veterinarian who earned a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2007, Christie has done everything from working in a busy dog and cat practice, to doing volunteer work in Mexico, to hosting and participating in trap/neuter/release clinics. Writing over 2000 articles that help pet parents understand diseases of companion animals, serving on the Board of Directors for Colorado’s largest feline rescue organization, and on the Board of Admissions at CSU’s veterinary school, in 2015 Christie joined a group of entrepreneurs and helped to pioneer veterinary telemedicine by launching one of the first companies in that space, PetCoach. Armed with the knowledge that while pet owners appreciate the convenience of electronic access to veterinarians, they often still need to bring their pets into a veterinary facility, she joined Modern Animal as part of the founding team in 2019 and serves as Chief Medical Officer for the company, which builds and operates small animal practices in California and Texas. She also currently serve on the board of directors of the Veterinary Virtual Care Association.

Brenda Medina - As a distinguished leader in the veterinary industry, Brenda is recognized for her strategic vision and innovative approach to practice management. With over 25 years of experience, Brenda has dedicated her career to elevating veterinary practices through a unique blend of operational expertise and creative problem-solving. s a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) and a member of several industry organizations, including the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), Brenda remains at the forefront of industry trends and best practices. She is a sought-after speaker, Facilitator, and consultant, sharing her insights and expertise at conferences, veterinary study groups, and workshops nationwide.

Raj Chakrabarty is a seasoned executive specializing in operations, program management, and digital transformation. Before joining Ellie Diagnostics, Raj held significant roles at Siemens Healthcare and MetLife. When he joined CVS Health in 2014, he spearheaded agile and digital product adoption within the company, delivering cost-saving solutions for their Pharmacy Benefits Management portfolio.
