Mark McKenzie has worked in a variety of senior public affairs and commercial roles throughout his career, largely in and around the Australian fuels and automotive industry since 1995.

He is currently the CEO of the Australasian Convenience and Petroleum Marketers Association (ACAPMA) – the national peak body in Australia that represents the interests of the fuel businesses that operate in the end stream of the fuel industry supply chain – that is, between refinery gate (fuel distribution and fuel wholesale) through to the petrol pump (petrol and convenience retailers). ACAPMA’s members perform an estimated 95% of the Australian wholesale task and directly and indirectly (via associated businesses) operate just over 74% of the nation’s 7080 service stations.

In addition to his role with ACAPMA, Mark currently holds a variety of Board and Government advisory committee roles relating to the transport & logistics industry, alternative fuels and vehicle strategy, digital transformation, higher education research, and the Australian workplace skills arena.

In the digitally empowered world, the fuel industry approach is moving from vehicle-centric to customer-centric as customers are becoming increasingly aware of their needs. To cater to their needs, fuel brands need to evolve their business models to turn their fuel stations to experience centers and create unique online to offline journeys for customers to drive customer loyalty. Jenn McMillen, founder and Chief Accelerant of Incendio, will be talking with Anthony Mistry, CIO of Shell Asia about just how to evolve brand loyalty in the ever-changing world of fuel retail.
