Chris joined Christie & Co in 2008 and was appointed Director in 2010. Chris has overall responsibility for valuation work undertaken across our medical business with particular expertise in the GP, pharmacy and dental sectors.
With a client base of leading corporate and independent operators together with key banks and lending institutions, Chris has been integrally involved in all of Christie & Co’s major medical advisory instructions since joining the business and is frequently invited to speak at industry events
and conferences.

Community pharmacy: A whole new world?
Leyla Hannbeck is Director of Pharmacy for The National Pharmacy Association (NPA). Prior to joining the NPA Leyla worked in various management roles in community pharmacy and pharmacy advisory settings in the UK and Europe. Leyla is accountable for the NPA pharmacy support services, education and training solutions and member liaison and representation in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. As part of her role she represents the organisation and its members to national and international stakeholders. Leyla is also the Medicines Safety Officer (MSO) for all independent pharmacies with less than 50 branches and shares the learning from patient safety incident reports from across the sector with pharmacy teams to promote a culture of safety and learning in community pharmacy.

James Waldron is a journalist specialising in community pharmacy since 2012, James was appointed editor of Chemist + Druggist (C+D) in 2016. He has appeared on BBC Radio 4 to discuss medicines shortages, interviewed pharmacy ministers and received the British Society of Magazine Editors’ award for best new editor.
Anne-Hélène Lebec is a pharmacist and lawyer. She joined an international pharmaceutical company, Fresenius, involved in the treatment of chronic kidney disease. She was in charge of launching innovative treatments and lobbied with French Authorities to allow new therapies in dialysis. She joined Giphar, a cooperative network of french pharmacies and wholesalers in France, as a member of the Board of Directors. She was responsible for communicating about strategy, emphasising the future of the pharmacy in France and developing adequate training. With her solid knowledge of pharma company's marketing needs, especially in chronic diseases, she built a strong relationship between them and pharmacies, to form a creative partnership which was ultimately for patient benefit. She is now a consultant for Pharma Companies which want to develop relationships with their new targets, pharma retail.

Pharmacy branding: How long have you got?
Gavin Birchall is a pharmacist, brand consultant, designer and author who works closely with brands in the pharmacy space to develop robust brand strategy and world class brand identity. Prior to setting up the DOSE Group Gavin worked in a range of roles in community pharmacy including latterly Operations and Marketing Director and Superintendent Pharmacist for an award winning, 21 strong independent pharmacy group. He completed the first research globally into the brand of pharmacy and is the author of The Pharmacy Marketing Formulary which shares a unique marketing model specific to pharmacy.

Old Macdonald had a Pharm-acy
This workshop will involve a short presentation followed by an interactive session that all the delegates can get involved with. The aim is to encourage and discuss work flow efficiency, using advice from Old Macdonald himself.
Andy spent 19 years, in the Speciality Chemicals Industry, where he qualified as an Industrial Chemist and gained an MBA studying part time. He held several roles across most functions, but specialised in Operations. Working ‘hands-on’, at all levels, to improve ways of working, he helped increase productivity to deliver £multi-million uplifts in profit.
Andy left the Chemicals Industry to become a Senior Consultant at award-winning Business Improvement consultancy; Boxwood (now KPMGBoxwood). He worked in a range of private and public sector organisations from Central government to Community Pharmacy.
Now a Partner at Velresco; Operational Improvement specialists (with deep expertise Community Pharmacy, FM, Retail and Veterinary), Andy is passionate about helping organisations and the people in them become as productive as they can be whilst not having to work harder! Velresco have developed enabling software tools, doubling their own productivity at helping clients free up significant capacity for profitable growth.
