PetroForum UK the biggest and best yet!
Last week, over 180 top retailers and suppliers gathered together in the Algarve for an intense program of business meetings and networking. Now in its fourth year, PetroForum UK has reached new heights: “A super event, great venue, a good list of delegates – and some very interesting ideas.” said retailer, Fraser Duffin of MRH Retail.
The conference on the first day opened with Merril Bolton, Editor of Forecourt Trader, interviewing Brian Madderson, and was brought to a close with an inspirational session from Wilfred Emmanuel Jones – aka The Black Farmer who set a positive, upbeat tone for the event.
Gold partners, Petrotec, took the opportunity to showcase the new generation of electric cars, with a Nissan Leaf in the hotel forecourt, accompanied by the new Petrotec fast charger, enabling delegates to test-drive an electric car for themselves.
OpenRoom’s unique appointments program occupied day two, with just over 900 formal business meetings and countless informal introductions. Subway’s Caroline Thomson said, “It has been a huge success. We’ve got lots of high quality leads which we will now try and digest!” And from Allan Abernethy of BP: “It was a great opportunity to see so many BP and non-BP dealers in one location and has led to us developing a number of good opportunities.”
Retailer companies were equally positive. “Probably the best networking event I have ever been to” said Mark Wilson of Fraser Group. “It was a great place to meet with work colleagues and peers and there was just the right amount of time for both business and socialising.”
A final comment from Brian Donaldson of The Maxol Group sums up one of the truly intangible benefits of the Forum: “I certainly believe I got value both in terms of identifying new suppliers and building new friendships in the industry. First Class”
The next PetroForum UK will run back-to-back with Fuel Distribution Forum in June 2014.
