Foodie Entrepreneur Joins the Speaker Line-up at the 2012 PetroForum Conference

The conference at the 2012 PetroForum rings in the changes this year with an eclectic and topical program of sessions.

Brian Madderson of RMI Petrol – whose tireless campaigning has invigorated the Association’s profile with Government and the media – opens with an overview on the state of the market.  He is joined by the Editor of Forecourt Trader, Merrill Boulton.   The forum’s Gold Partner, Petrotec, will take a look how at retailers will need to adapt to the acceleration of electric vehicles, asking whether threat or opportunity?  Two case studies complete the line-up: Robert Botkai of Winckworth Sherwood will address critical changes in alcohol licensing and strategies to protect your licence, followed by some recommendations on what can be done to guarantee reductions in energy consumption from Paul Jordon of the Jordon Group.

Bringing the conference to a stirring finale is guest-speaker Wilfred Emmanuel Jones – a classic entrepreneur with an ‘anything is possible’ attitude to everything he does.  In his own words, this ‘poor boy done good’, demonstrates how a healthy dose of ambition and persistence can overcome lack of qualifications and privilege.  Credited with bringing many of the top celebrity chefs to the small screen, Wilfred has fulfilled a lifelong ambition to produce his own food brand under The Black Farmer™ label and is now a business mentor and a member of the Government Entrepreneur Forum.

He promises a wide-ranging talk, exploring how to create brands, exploiting word-of-mouth and using social media to challenge the status quo.

PetroForum, a biennial gathering for the forecourt sector in the UK and Ireland, is organised by OpenRoom Events Ltd – and takes place on June 18th-19th at the Tivoli Victoria in the Algarve.
