PetroForum UK & Ireland

Marbella

Set against the backdrop of the Mediterranean sea, the PetroForum’s unique formula of two days of panel discussions, one-to-one appointments and networking once again proved to be a potent and memorable mix.

This year’s event brought a number of exciting new retailers from the Top 50, including Hockenhull, Exelby, Krisco Services, Sood Enterprises and Harry Tuffin.  Topaz Energy – Ireland’s leading petroleum retailer – also made its first appearance.  Suppliers covered the entire range of fuel and non-fuel activities on the forecourt, giving retailers a 360° view of their business.

With Brian Madderson at the helm, the panel debate was always going to be in safe hands.  Four major themes were discussed: BioFuels, the implications of the MOCs’ retreat from downstream activities, the latest from the VOA and winning the hearts and minds of the motorist.  With help from a stellar line up of panellists, including Janet Ashdown of Harvest Energy, Bob Etchingham of Petrogas and Michael Harris of Washtec – the discussions were wide-ranging and lively.

The forum offered some wonderful informal networking – lunches on the terrace, a cocktail reception, gala dinner at the breezy Beach Club and some fantastically competitive football and volleyball matches.  Special thanks go to Dresser Wayne for sponsoring the opening Golf Tournament on the hugely challenging Marbella Golf Course.

“My main ambition was to see the pump and underground storage tank suppliers. I met them all and now only one week after the forum, I am already getting their offers. This saves me a lot of time”
